I’m an English Literature student at Edinburgh University, with a penchant for journalism and writing prose. My favourite authors of the moment are Will Self and W.G. Sebald.
As well as writing creatively, I enjoy expressing vociferous opinion about things that matter; particularly when silliness and untruth are involved. I do this predominantly in Scottish student newspapers The Student and The Journal. You can find some of my pieces on my blog here.
Other interests include Italian current affairs (or what’s left of them), progressive politics, and reviewing restaurants. I also play the viola, and like to think I do this quite well. In 2010 I was fortunate to reach the category finals of BBC Young Musician of the year. My musical taste is eclectic, ranging from Monteverdi to Gaga.
